Event equipment set up

To ensure smooth live streaming and interactive sessions, it is essential for event organizers to set up their equipment correctly before the event. In this guide, you will find general information on setting up necessary and supporting equipment for your event.

This article provides general guidance and is not meant to replace specific device guides or user manuals. For information related to specific devices, consult the manufacturer's official user manuals, guides, or similar materials.

Camera

Setting up a camera for live streaming with InEvent is quick and easy. Check the following general instructions to get started.

For extensive information on your specific camera model, always refer to the camera's provided information sheet, user manual or other supplementary materials provided by the manufacturer.
  1. Place the packaging box in an upright position and open it.
  2. Remove the items from within the box and verify. The following items are usually shipped together with the camera device.
  • Power supply adapter
  • Power and/or data transfer cable(s)
  • Tripod mount
  • Usage instructions and/or user manual
  • Disks containing supporting software and/or drivers
Your camera model may come with different supporting items. For verification and further information, refer to your camera model's user manual.

If the camera model comes with a battery or can be independently used without being attached to a computer, it is recommended to power it on and verify its functionality and charging capability. It is also recommended to review the camera's user manual.

  1. Power on your computer. Ensure it is fully powered and booted to the desktop or working environment before proceeding.
For the best experience, also ensure that the computer is connected to the internet. This may help the computer automatically locate and install drivers for your camera if necessary.
  1. Verify the ends of the cable(s) that come with the camera. One end is to be plugged to the camera device, and the other end is to be plugged to your computer.
Cables may have different connector types, such as USB-A, USB-B, and USB-C, among others. The connector must be plugged to the correct port. If your computer does not have the correct port, you may need an adapter for that cable. For further information, consult the camera's user manual or the manufacturer's provided materials.
  1. Plug the cable to the camera and to the computer, and verify that the computer detects the connection. Some cameras are plug-and-play, meaning the camera is ready to be used at this point. However, other cameras may first need manual installation of software and/or drivers provided by the manufacturer.
Manufacturers usually ship their camera products with disks containing software and/or drivers. In case no disks are shipped within the box, refer to the user manual for further information. Additionally, you can also try manually updating your computer's operating system while the camera is connected, as it may help fetch drivers for your camera.

If the camera comes with the manufacturer's proprietary software, ensure to familiarize yourself with the software's functionality.

  1. Verify that the camera is working using your preferred application or software, such as your computer's camera software or the manufacturer's proprietary software.

If you succeeded completing all of the steps above, your camera is ready to be used for live streaming with InEvent.
